Final comments
Do people feel like that there are next steps? We don’t want to lose the momentum that has been gained the last day and a half?
I think we would benefit from an email list of who was here and who is doing what next.
From the CCSA perspective I was starting to feel a little overwhelmed this morning and as the conversation went on today there seems to be a lot of things we can facilitate and that there is a lot of local energy as well.
There were comments and feedback on some of our existing programs. Maybe the association doesn’t get enough feedback and maybe we can facilitate the community to help develop the solutions with us?
There is probably enough common ground to do things together.
I want to thank Cindy for putting this together. It’s pretty nice to have three clear areas to focus on and it was much more valuable then I expected.
The think tank world is kind of conceptual and we’re all used to working at a more tangible level. It was hard for me to explain what was going to happen because we weren’t sure what was going to happen. We thought it would be tough to convince people to come and spend their time – typically they want to know what the take-away is going to be.
It exceeded my expectations. Should we have a follow up meeting of this group?
Maybe a phone conversation? Maybe a webinar? Maybe a report out? Maybe we can present our concept papers to each other? We had about 18 to 20 people on our invite list and some of them didn’t make it. It might be interesting to report to the people that didn’t make it and see what they think?
Maybe we can pull people together at the conference? Our action steps for the concept paper was to send the concept to some schools and have a table talk at the conference. There is breakout time on Wednesday and Thursday of the conference – there are 30 minute sessions with 12 people at a table. That might provide the structure for us to meet again in these three breakouts?
Let’s turn the notes into a one pager and get the right people excited to be at the conference. Does CCSA have a budget to get the first city going for a pilot? If the time table is as suggested and there is a rollout at the conference and if we could say there is a $10,000 stipend for the groups that want to do the first pilot that would get schools excited.
One has to be a little careful with the multiplicity of the grants that are out there. I will be very interested to see the response to our communication and marketing idea. It really is the CMOs that can get at these three areas we’ve identified here. We need to pull on the personal relationships and call those people to get them interested and excited.
If there were one-pagers available by February 6th we could share them with Aspire.
All to COO’s of the CMO’s are getting together in February so we can share the concepts with them as well.
