I want to thank you for participating in the Learning Exchange and I'd like to hear about how you liked it. Comments
I thought it might be interesting to have the asset managers wear something special to identify them. The way the CRA works is can participate in getting CRA credit by having other institutions invest in us.Being a CDFI bank, if a larger bank has a national footprint they can get credit by investing into us. It's for women-and minority- owned banks. A big hole could develop again on the many critical subjects and themes and it's important to keep the group coming together. It's important to keep this connection befween the SRIs and this world. We need some entity informally to keep us going. Kirsten: We are getting some feedback from organizations who are interested in seeing this happen. I will add your comments to this and see what we can do. We need to figure out where everyone fits in this investment world. It would be helpful to have a map of the world. Also helpful is how everyone gets paid in this world. Maybe we can develop a product that's good for the broker and people like Amy. Where do credit enhancements and subsidies fit into this? Where should be going after them and where not? Kirsten: We need to go further in optimizing the use of these Maybe we need to do some reframing. Some of the costs are buried in products and we don't even know what they are. Is the tax credit really a subsidy? I do think that language is very important here. There are different ways to package or name subsidies. I think this is relevant, though I don't want to get into the political environment. Kirsten: This is the work that Greg and I are doing. Subsidy is not a very helpful word. We need to unpack this word. January 24-25 is the San Francisco event and we'll look to do some more collaborative work. Probably by May or June we'll be in New York. Dallas will be in the fall and then sometime in 2007 we'll have a meeting at the Board of Governor's in Washington.

Thanks everyone for participating. We will have a website available to you by Monday morning with the entire output of this session. We're creating a blog so that you can post comments and have a public forum for any news you have to share or ways you'd like to see us fashion further sessions. This will be the main page of the site. From there you will have links to all the conferences as they happen. We'll see you next time. |
